What is the mold temperature that the magnetic quick mold change magnetic template can accommodate? Many of our friends in the injection molding and metal stamping industries may not know this question very well, or may only have a vague idea of it. In practice, when dealing with our quick mold change customers, we usually ask them the question: “what is your mold temperature range? ” Why would we ask such a question?
1.Why is mold temperature in injection molding important to the quality?
Mold temperature control of injection molding machine is very important because it has the following effects on the quality of plastic products: 1. deformation, 2. dimensional accuracy, 3. mechanical properties, the chance of stress cracking, 4. surface quality. To avoid molding mouth prone to deformation and warping, it is critical to keep the mold temperature evenly and uniformly distributed. Experienced injection molders know how to set from the lowest appropriate mold temperature in injection molding of the material used and then adjusted appropriately according to the quality condition. But how does the mold temperature affect the magnetic mold clamping system?2.How does the Mold Temperature Affect the Magnetic Mold Clamping System?
People who work with magnet know that high temperatures and strong impacts can lead to demagnetization. The principle of high-temperature demagnetization is the interference of magnetic moments by the thermal motion of molecules. Normally, the magnetic recession is very slow below 80 degrees Celsius and almost negligible for a short period of time. For about ten years, the magnetism shall decay about 5%. However, if there are special working conditions required, the magnetic platens for mold clamping system can work in the temperature range up to 180 degrees after special technology. That is to say, the mold temperature that our magnetic platens can accommodate ranges from 0~ 180℃. To make sure the magnetic platens are durable during usage, we need to know what the mold temperature that the magnetic platens can accommodate is.3.The usual mold temperature to different injection molding materials is as follows:
PP material mold temperature: 40-80℃.PPS: 120-180℃.
POM: 80-105℃, larger surface can be higher.
PE-HD: 50~95℃.
PC: 70~120℃.
PBT: 40~60℃ for unreinforced materials.
PA6: 80~90℃ for thin-walled plastic parts with a long process.
ABS: 25-70℃.
PA12: 30-40℃ for unreinforced materials. PA12 needs precise control of mold temperature according to different wall thickness.
PA66 nylon 66: 60-90℃ for unreinforced materials, higher for reinforced materials.
We can see from the above that 4 out of ten materials mold temperature is under 80℃, and the rest is above 80℃ but below 180℃. In a word, the mold temperature of our magnetic mold clamping system can cover almost all molding materials.
